LOCAL, ETHICAL, SOCIAL
At L.B.R, each ball has a story that we strive to perpetuate. Collected from clubs, manufacturers, and distributors, these balls are first pre-cut and washed at a local ESAT (Work Assistance Establishment and Service), where people with disabilities find meaningful employment. Our products are 100% made in France, with unique artisanal expertise, and are entirely vegan, using coated fabric instead of leather. In this way, we export the spirit of rugby—solidarity, mutual aid, and fraternity—well beyond the playing field.
LE BALLON RESPONSABLE (aka L.B.R)
Le Ballon Responsable is, above all, a story of passion, friendship, and commitment to the planet. Founded by Serge Betsen and Lionel Quenardel, two childhood friends united by their love of rugby, our company was born from the desire to make a difference. Driven by shared values of solidarity, respect, and passion, we decided to transform our favorite sport into a force for the environment.
Since 2016, and through a non-profit organization (Recycling Rugby), we have been committed to an eco-responsible approach aimed at giving a second life to used or defective rugby balls. With more than 18,000 balls recycled to date, we have avoided the creation of 70 m³ of waste. Our ambition? To ensure that no more balls end up in the trash! To achieve this project, our association was no longer enough! That’s why LE BALLON RESPONSABLE exists.
OUR AWARENESS WORKSHOPS
We offer awareness workshops within your company or club for your employees or clients. These workshops can be implemented during seminars, sports tournaments, or team-building days… but also without it being a specific event; there’s no time to waste when it comes to protecting our planet! The presence of Serge Betsen (former captain of the French national team, 63 caps) can be a real asset to your team.
